The Manaki olive is a round, thin-skinned, delicate variety about the size of a bouncy ball. Its oil is lighter green, almost golden, with a smooth and buttery mouthfeel. Known as a breakfast oil in its region of Greece, Manaki olive oil touts a sweeter profile with soft pepperiness and notes of fresh flowers, citrus, and almonds. This type of oil has limited annual availability, as it is typically picked and pressed in early November at the beginning of the harvest. Early harvest olive oils have higher levels of polyphenols and cleaner flavors. Enjoy as a buttery dipping oil, a delicate highlight in salads and dressings, or drizzle on vanilla ice cream!
